Lowell, ARK – Kimberly-Clark has partnered with United Way of Northwest Arkansas to “keep ’em covered”. Kimberly-Clark has donated 50,000 diapers to United Way’s Diaper Bank. This will help United Way, in partnership with other nonprofit agencies, to continue to provide diapers to over a thousand children in Northwest Arkansas who otherwise may not have access to clean diapers.
In 2011, United Way of Northwest Arkansas began the Diaper Bank with a generous donation of 1 million diapers from Kimberly-Clark. More than 1,100 children in Northwest Arkansas rely on this diaper bank each month. In fact, 1 in 3 parents struggle to afford the diapers that their children need. United Way utilizes this diaper bank to supply partner agencies in the area with diapers to distribute to the families they serve.
Last year, to supplement the original diaper donation, United Way worked with Kimberly-Clark, Walmart, and 11 other companies to coordinate a region-wide diaper drive. The “Help Keep ‘Em Covered” diaper drive brought in 50,000 diapers to the diaper bank. Kimberly-Clark then matched the donation of diapers from the community with an additional 50,000 diapers.
In total, Kimberly-Clark has donated 1,100,000 diapers to United Way of Northwest Arkansas and in turn, to those in need in our community.
