Get to Know Our Volunteers!

Did you know that United Way’s Gift in Kind Warehouse has been shopped by over 200 local nonprofit agencies and in 2014 alone, put more than $23 million worth of product into the hands of members of our Northwest Arkansas community who need it most?

Something you may not know- the Gift in Kind Warehouse is like home to more than 15 volunteers. These volunteers get up every morning, Monday-Friday, and dedicate their day (unpaid) to volunteering with us at the Gift in Kind Warehouse (some driving more than 65 miles just to be here!). Without these volunteers, we would not be able to accomplish all that we do. Our volunteers work tirelessly ensure that there is plenty of product to be shopped; product that the more than 120 agencies need in order to support their clients and their agencies. The Warehouse volunteers have come to us from all different walks of life throughout the years – some have come and gone, but many have been loyal volunteers with us for years! For some, it has been a life changing experience, and we are glad to be a part of it!

“Volunteering here is fulfilling and awesome!”- Betty Wood, 2 years of volunteer service

“The Gift in Kind Warehouse gets me away from home. I have made a wonderful Gift in Kind Warehouse family.”- Ella Herron, 10+ years of volunteer service

“I am retired and LOVE It here (especially Ms. Ella)! I drive 65 miles twice a week just to be here!” – Ms. Jackie, 2 years of volunteer service

“I came from Columbus, Ohio and didn’t know anyone. I work at Legacy and come here on my days off. I love being with people and I have made great family here” –Josette Koubaka, 1 year of volunteer service

We are so grateful that our everyday volunteers have chosen to donate their time to the Gift in Kind Warehouse.
