VILLAGEHOUSE1

“Last fall we were contacted by a caregiver whose husband had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease. She had been searching for months trying to find a place where her husband felt comfortable. He was hesitant about attending but finally agreed to a few visits. Within two weeks his wife informed us that he wanted to attend on a daily basis, in his own words, he had found his “home away from home”. His wife was so excited to have found our organization but was unable to send him daily for financial reasons. This is where the support from United Way steps in; with the support we receive from United Way we are able to scholarship this man. He is able to attend daily now which has brought meaning and purpose into his life again.”
