2017 Workplace Campaign Kickoff

2017 Campaign is Underway!

United Way of Northwest Arkansas officially kicked off the 2017 workplace campaign year in style on Thursday, September 29th with a great turnout of 70+ community leaders and volunteers. Thanks to our Campaign Chair Mike Russell, of P&G, for kicking off the morning introducing the UWNWA’s bold goal of $3,500,000 and introducing the very special guest speakers. UofA Athletic Director, Jeff Long, spoke movingly about the number of students enrolled at the UofA is comparative to the number of children living in poverty in NWA—and how that needs to change! Olympic Silver Medalist and UofA Alum, Sandi Morris, also talked about why she so passionately connects to the cause at the kickoff. Sandi spoke on how greatful she was to have the resources available to her that she could succeed in her dream of athletics, and how children whom live in poverty that don’t have their basic needs fulfilled “can’t fully chase their dreams.” Check out our Facebook page to see more pictures from the kickoff.

The momentum from Campaign Kickoff has kept strong, with several campaigns already exceeding their goals. A few of those success are:

  • Procter & Gamble, with a $125,000 goal and raising over $136,500 in just a week!
  • Seal Air, who has raised nearly $29,000 (over $12,000 more than their campaign last year!)
  • J.V. Manufacturing, who has raised nearly $27,000 (a major increase of from their campaign total last year of $17,000!)

While many companies, organizations, and schools have kicked off their 2017 campaign season—it’s not too late to join in! Check out our website to sign up your company to see our campaign videohost a campaign, check out campaign toolkit, or request print materials to make your campaign successful.
